At ends

I know I stated that I was done blogging until the fall, but this issue cannot go without writing. There’s a player on my team that comes from a family of issues. This is what I would love to say to the parent, yet I can’t.

“You drive around this city in a mini-van with a missing window. You once lived in a place that my best fried owned, so I know you live like a pig. It’s not my fault that your husband is in jail. The only child in your family who is not mentally challenged is your son on my team. In fact, he’s the only normal one in your entire family. THIS is the reason why he has a horrible attitude. It's not my fault! Can you please take some responsibility for your situation! I do not yell at him, I correct him, and I plan to do so. He may be mad at me, but I’m the only father figure he has. He’ll get over it.”

F***ing parents…
F***ing parents…
F***ing parents…
F***ing parents…
F***ing parents…
F***ing parents…

I’m just about ready to make this my last year. This is bullshit. I just can’t stand to be this close and personal to these poor kids anymore. I try to help them, yet the parents make excuses for their actions, excepting no responsibility what so ever. My nerves are shot!

The fruit

Apparently all my hard work with the kids thus far has pain off. We squashed the Red Sox last night, 7-0 in our first scrimmage of the year. Opening day is this Saturday. It’s a huge event where every team in every division plays. Plus, every team has pictures taken before their game. Although my picture time isn’t until 11:00am, with the game at noon, I’ll be at the fields all day long. I estimate a $1,500.00 day at our concession stand.

Some personal reasons will keep me from the computer, and blogging for a while, not that anyone reads my blog anyway. Hope to be up and running again in the fall, if Blogger is still here by then.
